Artelinea’s Dicroico is a striking freestanding basin stand manufactured entirely in glass. Each basin stand is made with four sheets of laminated glass, the name ‘Dicroico’ deriving from a particular film used in the lamination process. This film causes visible light to be split up into distinct beams of different wavelengths, much like the effect of a crystal, so that we see different colours when viewed from different directions.Designed by Italian engineer and designer Davide Vercelli, Dicroico has a tremendous visual impact with its balance between the geometric shape of the basin stand and the play of light and perspectives. The triangular shape of the glass sheets ensures that the piece uses as little material as possible.
