Berwick House
The C.P. Hart Design team transformed the primary suite and cloakroom of Berwick House. Used by the whole family, both bathrooms needed to be functional spaces whilst still providing sanctuary for moments of relaxation.The Cloakroom
“Sometimes the smallest spaces can give you the greatest joy,” the designer shares. “When it comes to cloakrooms, it’s your opportunity to go bold. Throw colour at it, mix patterns and tile formations, go for all the things that make the heart sing that you wouldn’t necessarily want to see in, say, your living room.”The downstairs cloakroom, tucked beneath the stairs, features Samuel Heath Landmark Pure brassware in the antique brass finish, wall mounted over Duravit’s compact Zone basin. Installed on every wall, the bright blue tiles give the space an abundance of character, particularly when paired with the geometric tiling underfoot.
The Primary Suite
The primary suite features a monochrome scheme with a clever layering of pattern and texture. “White and muted tones are such a relaxing palette, and it helps furniture and accessories to stand out,” the designer explains.White metro tiling wraps the bathroom’s walls, contrasted with black hexagonal floor tiles, grouted in white for added depth. The inset bath maximises floor space, creating room for a large vanity unit chosen for its convenient storage and warm wooden exterior.
To elevate the suite, the designer chose Vola’s ‘natural brass’ brassware and marble shelving for the shower recess.
The Result
Used as a multifunctional space, it was important for the primary bathroom to be highly durable yet beautifully designed. As such, the C.P. Hart Design team carefully selected premium products whilst paying close attention to every design detail to ensure durability and timeless elegance.“White is never boring to me, just classic and timeless. And those brass taps can patina all they like; they just get better and better,” the owner shares.
