ELLINGTON ROAD
The owners of Ellington Road, a North London three-bedroom property built in 1925, had been contemplating the conversion of their loft into a master bathroom for some time. C.P. Hart was able to design, supply, and install the space, creating a glamorous bathroom with Art Deco details throughout. The Specification
The C.P. Hart design team created the larger loft space by demolishing its dividing wall, retaining the original features, such as the diamond-shaped window, for character. Inspired by the Spanish sea, the owners opted for an azure-blue glazed tile backdrop trimmed with black tiles for definition. The Camden freestanding cast-iron bath, exclusive to C.P. Hart, gives the bathroom its focal point, sat opposite the walk-in shower enclosed with a black-framed screen to align with the tile detail. Continuing with the black theme, the London toilet features a black seat that coordinates with the dark Claridge vanity unit and contrasts the chrome Samuel Heath Style Moderne brassware.
The Result
Through on-screen visualisations produced off the back of their design consultation, the owners gained a clear sense of how the finished space would look – an important and exciting step when designing a new bathroom. The Art Deco scheme is very much present in the interior, accentuated by the bold colours and patterns from the wall and floor tiles. To complete the bathroom, the design team selected a black JIS Rye heated towel rail and Astro io 420 wall lights to generate a warm and inviting atmosphere.
