MOORE HOUSE
Interior designer Robert James Moore underwent a complete home renovation of his four-storey townhouse, built in 1840. Part of this transformation included the conversion of two downstairs dressing rooms into a large master bedroom and en-suite, suppliedby C.P. Hart.
The Specification
The starting point for creating the master en-suite was demolishing the wall that divided the two dressing rooms, creating a generous area for the new bedroom and bathroom. “We did think of adding double doors but preferred to enjoy the natural light that flows through the large sash windows at the front and back of the house,” says Robert.The Winchester freestanding bath is paired with our Original freestanding bath mixer in chrome, both exclusive to C.P. Hart. The bath’s double-ended design makes it the perfect option for central placement; “I can lie in one direction and watch the TV in the bedroom or lie the other way and see the sky through the window,” Robert explains.
Positioned on either side of the bath, Robert specified our exclusive London basins and Original chrome basin mixers, sat beneath custom-made mirror cabinets to optimise storage. Opposite, the spacious shower enclosure from Matki is surrounded by solid walls, clad in marble tiling, to screen the WC from the bedroom.
The Result
When designing the bathroom, Robert kept to a classic interior with modern elegance. He chose deep navy walls, white marble tiles, and chrome brassware to create a contrast, particularly when partnered with his favourite ikat print, as seen on the bathroom curtains and throughout the bedroom. “The colour is smart and strong, and in keeping with the modern-classic look we wanted.”The result is a truly luxurious space, created with close attention to detail right down to the bathroom’s accessories, from the twin chrome heated towel rails to the symmetrically placed golden wall lights.
