WILDWOOD MANSION
C.P. Hart supplied the bathroom products for the renovation of a 1920s mansion located in the heart of Kent’s countryside. We worked in collaboration with architectural interior designer Louise Putman of Recreate Interiors, creating a striking and traditional master bathroom for the owners.The Specification
The architects began the project by knocking down two former bedrooms to accommodate the new master bathroom. The larger space gave the designer freedom to hand-pick beautiful and durable C.P. Hart products to suit the owner’s requirements. “One of the owners is tall, and he told me that he had never had a bathtub in which he could lie comfortably,” recalls Louise, choosing the Bisazza Organico bath, a longer-than-average and double-width freestanding bath. Positioned in the centre of the room, the bath, featuring four decorative legs and a varnished wooden frame, creates an immediate focal point.To echo the form of the bath’s legs, the designer chose our exclusive Hoxton vanity unit and two tall cabinets for additional storage. Traditional-style Samuel Heath brassware is installed at the bath, basin, and shower, finished in chrome and complete with black crystal lever handles to tie in with the monochrome scheme.
The Result
“The owners wanted a relaxing retreat with a design that was sympathetic to the age of the property,” Louise explains, opting for dark crackle-glazed tiles clad to half the wall height to envelope the room, and patterned floor tiles to add depth and textureto the space.
While the entire bathroom is finished with a classical interior, a large, smart TV mirror sits above the vanity unit, placed directly opposite the bath.
